We use commercial landscape fabric, tarping, flame-weeding, and hand cultivation as necessary.

For aphids we rely heavily on predatory insects such as green lacewings and ladybugs which we will buy and release as necessary. We will do manual intervention as required with direct water. In a particularly bad infestation we use castile soap. For junebugs we use manual intervention and traps. Slugs are done with traps. Other pests are relatively light and we keep a healthy population of predatory insects as much as possible.

We worm our chickens with homemade herbal wormer made of certified organic black walnut hull powder, certified organic garlic, certified organic rosemary, certified organic parsley, diatomaceous earth, pasture rotation, clean bedding, clean water daily, etc.

We have not experienced any diseases. All diseases will be address with organic herbs/tinctures and culling when necessary.

Kunekune pigs - 3, Nigerian Dwarf goats - 6, American rabbits - 2, Chocolate Turkeys - 7, Blue India peafowl - 3. All animals are on rotating pasture and fed strictly certified organic feed, dewormed herbally, and treated holistically.

Please describe your buffer. Be specific. On all sides, how far is it from your livestock pasture to the next closest use (i.e. road, conventional crop, residential yard)? Specify what is grown on neighboring land in agricultural use. For example: To the north and east, a wooded area of at least 100 yards separates us from the neighbor's corn fields, to the south is a fallow field at least 100 yards deep separating us from a blueberry farm, and to the west about 60 feet separates our crops from a field where conventional corn and soybeans are grown. *
We keep a minimum of a 50 foot buffer along the side of our property bordering our residential neighbor. Additionally, we have trees/shrubs/bushes growing along the property line that can act as a wind break. The back of the property borders the Perkiomen creek. The other side of our property borders our neighbors wooded area and we maintain at least a 50 ft buffer. The front of our property runs along the street. We also keep an additional 30-50ft buffer from the road as well as trees/bushes to act as a wind break.
