- We own 55 acres on Lookout Mountain where we grow lavender, blueberries and apples. We have owned this property since 2016 and have taken care to make sure our produce is not subjected to harmful pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. We would like our customers and guests to know the care we take to offer clean,top quality flowers and fruit.

Farmland Management and Practices
- Primary Tillage System: *
- As of this time, all of our plantings are for perennials. We used a hiller to make raised beds, cover with weed cloth and burn holes in the weed cloth 36-40 inches apart. Holes are dug for the lavender plants and are refilled with a mixture of existing soil, organic material and limestone rock.

- it is used to mix in the individual holes. Not spread over large area. Perhaps 1 pint per gallon and a half.

- Please list any other brought in fertility sources that you use (specific rock powders, lime, soybean / alfalfa meal, specific purchased pre-mixes, etc)and how often it's used. If you indicate a name brand product, please also specify the ingredient/s. *
- I use limestone gravel purchased from the rock yard at Ace Hardware. Also we use pelletized lime and powdered lime to raise the pH for the lavender plants.
- Have any chemical fertilizers been applied to the fields you are seeking Certification for in the last three years (36 months)? *

- We hand pull weeds. We never use spray -- especially since we also have bees and want them to be healthy.
- Describe your primary insect challenges AND methods of control. Do not answer "none". You MUST indicate either actual pest challenges and/or LIKELY challenges, and you must ALSO indicate how you manage (or would manage) them. If you indicate a product, also specify how often it's used. *
- Lavender doesn't have problems with insects per se. I have hand removed a wasps nest from one and a black widow from another, but these were harmful to humans, not the plants.
- Describe your primary disease challenges AND methods of control. Do not answer "none". You MUST indicate either actual disease challenges and/or LIKELY challenges, and you must ALSO indicate how you manage (or would manage) them. If you indicate a product, also specify how often it's used. *
- Our primary disease challenge is phytopthora. We have been spared this disease which has ravaged our industry. We are prepared to combat it if necessary with an organic fungicide, Actinovate.

- We get ample water up at are farm...actually too much....which is a problem for lavender growing. When the plants are young, I hand water using water from our well. During the drought of 2016, I used well water to irrigate the blueberry bushes.

Seeds, Transplants and Buffers
- How do you select your seeds? CNG standards call for growers to make a good faith effort to locate organically grown seeds by contacting at least 3 major suppliers. *

- We grow perennials and do not harvest until they are 12 months old.

Be sure to specify what is grown on neighboring land that is in agricultural use. For example: To the north and east, a wooded area of at least 100 yards separates us from the neighbor's corn fields, to the south is a fallow field at least 100 yards deep separating us from the road, and to the west about 60 feet separates our crops from a field where conventional corn and soybeans are grown. *
