We are a college farm that is interested in herbicide and pesticide free agriculture. We are transitioning to high intensity, no-till production with the intent of increasing soil carbon.

We use compost from the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA), as well as compost made on farm from crop residues, vegetable waste, and coffee grounds.

Colorado potato beetles and tomato hornworm managed by scouting and manual removal. Habitat for parasitoid wasp encouraged for tomato hornworm with observed occurrence and control. Cabbage looper managed with spun-bond agricultural fleece. Squash vine borer managed by manual removal and application of diatomaceous earth.

Please describe your buffer. Be as specific as possible. On all sides, how far is it from your crops to the next closest use (road, conventional crop, residential yard)? Be sure to specify what is grown on neighboring land that is in agricultural use. For example: To the north and east, a wooded area of at least 100 yards separates us from the neighbor's corn fields, to the south is a fallow field at least 100 yards deep separating us from the road, and to the west about 60 feet separates our crops from a field where conventional corn and soybeans are grown. *
We are located on a 2,000 acre campus in the Pinelands National Reserve. Our neighboring areas on the north, west, and south are at least a quarter mile of native pitch pine/white oak forests. To the east, a park-like wooded area of at least 300 yards separates us from a paved road through campus, used primarily by the college community.
