Harvest is harvested by July 1. Insects have never been a problem. The barley grass is dried inside naturally by air. We use no insecticide products.

Our barley is cut before it goes to grain so have not had a problem even with rust. The fields have pretty good drainage. IF a problem was discovered it would be best to contact the local agriculture agency to see how best to deal with it.

Please describe your buffer. Be as specific as possible. On all sides, how far is it from your crops to the next closest use (road, conventional crop, residential yard)? Be sure to specify what is grown on neighboring land that is in agricultural use. For example: To the north and east, a wooded area of at least 100 yards separates us from the neighbor's corn fields, to the south is a fallow field at least 100 yards deep separating us from the road, and to the west about 60 feet separates our crops from a field where conventional corn and soybeans are grown. *
Our fields are separated by wooded areas and pasture. 400 feet is bordered by a road. All other sides are surrounded by woods and the pasture.
