"The only outside source of fertility was 20 yards of 3-year-old composted cow manure and litter from a local farmer (2006). Also, we used about 20 yards from a bulk compost supplier who uses "natural sources", i.e. no sludge or waste (2005). We have since developed our own compost. This consists of leaf, grass and chicken littler from our 25 chickens."
